Lab member Christopher Contreras joins University of Massachusetts, Boston

April 1, 2021 by hippj

We’re all super proud of lab member Christopher Contreras, who is receiving his Ph.D. in 2021 from the Department of Criminology, Law & Society and will be an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Christopher studies neighborhood disorder, drugs and crime, public policy, and the community context of crime. In his time at ILSSC he has received numerous awards, including the 2020 Gene Carte Award for best student paper in the American Society of Criminology, the best student paper from Society for the Study of Social Problems Drinking and Drugs Division I, and the Ruth D. Peterson and Lauren J. Krivo Graduate Student Scholar Award from the Division of Communities and Place (DCP) for the best student paper. Congrats Christopher!
